College & University Links

Although 20% of today’s careers require a four-year college degree, 80% require technical education or training. About sixty percent of students from our local community attend a two-year college and then transfer to a four-year college.

Two-year colleges and technical colleges do not require applicants to have followed a college prep program in high school, nor do they require applicants to take the SAT or ACT. However, challenging coursework is a consideration for admission, and most have an entrance exam requirement.

College applications are due at varying times. Look at each university or college to familiarize you with timelines.

We recommend visiting the web site of the university and college of your choice to schedule a visit on campuses before your senior year to get a "fit and feel" of each campus.  Search on the admissions page for video tours and actual tours.
