About FHS
Who attends FHS High School?
FHS is a small high school enrolling up to 60 juniors and seniors. Students from CHS elect to attend FHS for the following reasons; small school environment and smaller classes, more personalized relationships with staff, opportunity to earn more than 3 credits per semester increasing the chance to be an on time graduate, more time with teachers when needing additional academic support.
Is FHS an “alternative” school?
Yes. It is also a school of choice where the diploma and transcript do not reference that FHS is an alternative school. In fact, there is no need because by design we are more a small high school with alternative learning stylings; we also fall under the laws regarding ALE schools :). It is common for more than 20 students to graduate each year from Futurus High School. Students enroll here consistently with that specific goal in mind. Students are required to meet the same district and state requirements as those attending CHS. There is no easy way out by coming here.
Is Futurus High School Safe?
FHS is a very peaceful school where students become friends, get along, support one another, and build strong relationships with the staff. We maintain an extremely positive school environment where students thrive with the guidance of the staff.
Is transportation provided?
The district provides transportation to/from FHS. Student drop off and pick up at Centralia Middle School students walk to and from FHS. The New Market bus stop (7a.m.) is on the north side of the middle school (Borst Ave.).
We would like to remind you that magic words such as hello, please, you’re welcome, I’m sorry, and thank you, all begin to be learned at home.
Home is also where they learn to be organized, to take good care of their belongings, and that it’s not ok to touch others.
Here at school, on the other hand, we teach language, math, history, geography, physics, sciences, and physical education.
We only reinforce the education that children receive at home from their parents.
We are a school of choice that caters to students in grades 11-12+ within the district, as well as its surrounding districts.
The mission is to provide students with options toward graduation and earning their high school diploma.
